WORTHINGTON, Ohio, (Feb. 22, 2017) – J. Scott Cummans has been named President and CEO of BestTransport as well as Director of the company, Rick Frio, Co-Founder announced today. The appointment is effective today.
“After having conducted an extensive search both externally as well as internally, it was apparent to the board that Scott had the qualifications, experience and vision for BestTransport’s solutions set of Transportation Management Systems and professional services,” Frio said.
Cummans joined BestTransport in 2013 as Vice President, Software Engineering, in which his duties included management of all design, development and enhancements of the BestTransport Transportation Management Solutions suite.
“Scott has shown over these three-plus years that he not only can solve complex software issues, but he also has successfully led the analysis and implementation of business process improvements that we have implemented over the past year,” Frio said.

“Our objective moving forward will be to provide our loyal customer base with continued enhancements to our class-leading TMS as well as a professional services group that can assist them in becoming more efficient in how they plan and execute their transportation process,” Cummans said. “Not only am I here to help service our clients, but my role within BestTransport, culled from my experiences throughout my professional history, will be to assist our employees in making them successful.”
