Junior Software Developer
The Junior Software Developer is part of a software development team building and working on enterprise grade software systems on top of the Microsoft .NET development stack. The Junior Software Developer is involved in all areas of development from design to development to testing. He/She will also be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining stable, high-performing code across development, test, and production environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Product Development, the duties and responsibilities of the Jr. Software Developer include:
Working with a development team to develop, test, and maintain web and desktop-based business applications built on Microsoft technologies.
Assisting in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development of user stories, and estimates.
Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
Assist in design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
Participating in peer reviews of solution designs and related code.
Package and support deployment of releases.
Working with teammates in the migration of older applications (asp) to current Microsoft technologies.
Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications.
Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems.
Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
Providing third-level support to business users.
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum Requirements
College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Strong desire to learn
6 months to 1+ years of experience working as a developer
Proficient in writing and analyzing SQL code
Experience writing and maintaining complex SQL queries
Core Competency Requirements
Understanding of object oriented programming concepts
Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
Familiarity with version control concepts
Preferred Competency Requirements
Exposure to Microsoft .NET development using C# Visual Studio, .NET 3.5/4.0 Frameworks
Exposure to object-oriented development
Exposure to web development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Knowledge of client/server application development
Knowledge of unit testing theory
