Product Development: Software Developer
BestTransport, an industry leader in cloud-based computing solutions for shippers in the mid-market, is looking for an experienced Software Developer.
This position, based in Columbus, Ohio offers ‘cloud-based’ solutions for the planning, scheduling, and execution of transportation services by
manufacturers and distributors in several lines of business. BestTransport’s customers include both Fortune 500 enterprises as well as mid-market businesses.
The Software Developer will be a part of the Product Development Team. He/She will investigate complex problems,
as well as contribute to design, code and testing. He/She will also be responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining stable, high-performing code across development, test, and production environments.
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree 2+ years of experience working as a developer
-Practical knowledge of MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
-Experience with object-oriented design and development
-Highly proficient in writing, analyzing, and tuning SQL code
-Experience developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex web-based applications
-Detail-oriented working style with excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize business tasks
-Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and reporting abilities
-Self-directing and highly proactive while working independently and part of a team
-Have experience in design and writing requirements
Candidate will be responsible for the following job duties:
-Analyze and solve problems in existing systems
-Design, code and test multiple modules of a system in a timely manner
-Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues. Provide ongoing assessment of performance concerns and opportunities
-Translating requirements and design into code
-Participate in system design and functional requirements
-Participate in architectural reviews and plans
-Provide on-call support and availability for occasional after-hours or weekend work
-Assist technical leadership in enforcing coding practices, including source code management, coding standards, testing procedures, defect tracking, release management, and documentation
-Collaborate with the customer team to ensure production issues are addressed immediately
-Ensure timely follow up of all assigned projects, regardless of existing workload
-Proactively seek out solutions to less common problems, developing workarounds for customer problems, and performing bug verification for
reported issues when appropriate
-Maintain working knowledge of all product features and functionality through on-going training and self-initiated research and testing
-Experience with ASP, COM+, VBScript, CSS, HTML, XML
-Experience developing multi-lingual web applications using the .NET framework
-Experience developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining DTS (Data Transformation Services) SSIS (SQL

Customer Operations: Implementation Manager
The Implementation Manager will oversee and direct the deployment of new products, services or projects related to new customer software implementation.
-Work set hours to meet BestTransport’s clients’ needs and expectations.
Unless otherwise specified these hours will be 8:30 AM for 8 hours plus a minimum of 30 minutes for lunch.
-Monitor, track and act upon Mantis tickets for the first 30 minutes of each day.
-Will understand capabilities of the BestTransport solution and advise clients on how to most effectively use BestTransport.
-Implementation project manager directs all activities for the deployment of the project.
-Gather customer requirements to understand BestShippers functionality needed.
-Create future state process flow.
-Create final requirements document and Project plan.
-Setup new BestShippers solution. Ensure a profile for the shipper is added to the Knowledge base.
-Determine any developmental items needed.
-Perform system and integration end to end testing.
-Perform all necessary training with customer.
-Achieve all milestones and meet on time delivery of project.
-Perform other cross functional activities as needed.
-Perform testing to confirm functionality specifically requested by customers.

Sales and Marketing: Sales Director
Position Overview:Manage all daily activities of marketing and lead generation. Ability to effectively communicate the BestTransport value proposition, prospect for new opportunities and build a pipeline for the given vertical. Candidate will have experience with 3PL sales within the metals/flatbed industry. Supervisors: None Essential Functions: -Consultative selling. -Generate and qualify leads. -Develop referrals. -Work with other BestTransport departments to develop proposals, and implementation action plans. -Present sales proposals and contracts. -Strong negotiation skills. -Report sales events with the BestTransport CRM. -Other duties as assigned. -Assist in development of techniques to conduct user centered research: field visits, observations, and interviews. Prerequisite Experience: -High school graduate, 2 or 4 year college graduate preferred. -Excellent telephone skills and computer knowledge. -Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail orientated. -Excellent written skills with a demonstrated proficiency composing written communications. -3-5 years previous job experience enterprise sales with experience preferred in logistics and 3PL solutions. -Track record of sales success within chosen vertical including prospecting, building a pipeline and quota achievement. Physical Requirements: Able to sit at desk to do computer work. Travel within the United States by car and airplane. High energy level comfortable with performing multiple projects and activities during a day.
Sales and Marketing: Inside Sales
Manage all daily activities of marketing and lead generation. Ability to effectively communicate the BestTransport value proposition, prospect for new opportunities and build a pipeline. Candidate will have experience with 3PL or Broker sales.
-Prospecting via phone and Internet. Conducting discovery and qualifying prospects
-Identifying new opportunities

-Ability to work with and coordinate sales with outside sales executives

Operations: Transportation Coordinator
This is a full time position working as a BestTransport employee at Alcoa's Knoxville, TN office. The employee will be expected to take ownership of and be a single point of contact for all Central Dispatch functions.
Supervisors: Deborah Llaneza
-Manage the process of arranging transportation services with carriers for purchased metals; scrap ; outbound products from selected locations; inbound materials;’ over dimensional loads and emergency shipments
-Utilize the BestTransport web based tender tool
-Train suppliers on the use of BestTransport Supplier Connection, as well as monitor supplier activity and provide assistance as necessary
-Monitor account supplier activity daily for potentially invalid or incorrect shipment information
-Communicate with involved carriers, company locations and suppliers
-Provide special handling to expedite, divert, or otherwise deviate from routine service of a shipment
-Provide backup coverage for other coordinators as requested
-Handle service failures, including after hours, as required and follow up on shipments as necessary
-Ensure that exception loads are successfully resolved
-Assist our customers Logistics Support Organization in carrier payment resolution
-Schedule pick up and/or delivery appointments when required
-Meet with carrier representatives and/or customer service representatives and Alcoa Carrier Sourcing Manager as necessary to resolve problems and review service
-Prepare analytic reports and performance metrics using Excel, as required

Support: Customer Support (L1)
This is a full time position. The new employee will be expected to take ownership of and be a single point of contact for customer issues until the issues are resolved. Person will also be expected to work on Customer Support projects, in addition to testing, as needed.
